HENDERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgency***Press Release*** On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at approximately 4:30am, Mountain Home Fire Department responded to 635 McMinn Road in reference to a structure fire. Once the scene was made safe, the Henderson County Fire Marshal’s Office along with the Henderson County Arson Task Force conducted the Origin and Cause investigation, which was determined to be Arson. As a result of the investigation, Arson Task Force investigators with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office have charged and arrested the following individuals: Alexander Dollar- 32 years of age, of Hendersonville, was charged with Second-Degree Arson. Dollar was arrested and booked into the Henderson County Detention Center under a $7500.00 secured bond. Cara Campbell- 28 years of age, charged with Second-Degree Arson. HENDERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgency***Press Release*** On April 13th, 2024 at approximately 6:07 pm deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office were called to respond to a disturbance where it was reported that a male subject had a gun and had been threatening people in the North Mills River Campground. After units arrived in the area, a chase ensued with the suspect. He then crashed his van and shots were fired from that vehicle which led to an exchange of gunfire with units that were on scene. Per protocol, the deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave, the North Carolina SBI has been notified and is currently conducting an investigation. As a result of their investigation they identified one deceased male, Jonathan Durell Solomon, 38 years of age from Baltimore, MD.
