Metropolitan State University of Denver is a great school for people of diverse backgrounds, cultures and ideals to really learn at a healthy pace and become the best they can be. Most of my time at MSU I thoroughly enjoyed learning, commuting to campus and completing my required courses. The many different buildings and focuses also help to hone in for practices of individual areas of study. I went to the main campus as well as the business building in my time and being in the business department always felt uniquely formal and focused on executing functions of business. The same can be said about the diverse nature of the main campus with the Tivoli at the center providing food and other campus resources, the library being a social hub and place of study, and the other classroom buildings where you will complete a variety of your starting courses. There are few schools that compare to the modular and open nature of MSU.

All of the faculty that I’ve been involved with have been very professional and cordial for the most part. I can’t recall any particularly sour experiences with them. I think that due to the large amount of commuter students, the campus community feels very disconnected and indifferent. I think that it’s difficult to create student life events and such when most students drive to campus from wherever they’re living and then have to leave to work jobs or do whatever responsibilities they may have. I think the campus does a good job of allowing all groups to participate in on campus advertising, as well as providing adequate accommodations for each.

I loved attending Metropolitan State University of Denver. It's a non traditional college, as it's a commuter campus, and three colleges share the campus. It ended up being the right environment for me, but may not be right for most people. There is no housing through the university, so most students live on their own, or at with family. This also meant there isn't a lot of campus events that are easy to attend outside of the hours you're on campus for classes. I didn't have a huge social life in college due to some of these quirks, but I was supremely happy in my program and with my education.
